Pete the Punk interviews Mark Thomas

Legendary anarchist on the art of protest

On this Saturday's edition of the award-winning My Beautiful Self, Pete the Punk will be broadcasting his interview with anarchist/comedy legend Mark Thomas.

Thomas plays Aberdeen's Lemon Tree on Wednesday next week as part of his '100 Minor Acts of Dissent' tour, which won rave reviews during this year's Edinburgh Festival.

During his career, Mark Thomas has been behind some of the UK's most high-profile and successful acts of political protest and is possibly most famous for driving a tank through a McDonald's Drive-Thru. His protests have seen some significant changes of policy from corporations and governments - and he recently organised the biggest ever game of What's the Time Mr Wolf in London's Hyde Park to protest against a private company charging for people to play sports in the public space.

He chats to Pete about his history of activism and how ordinary people really can make a difference, even when they feel the odds are stacked against them.

So tune in to 99.8fm this Saturday (14th September) at 3pm to hear the full chat between Mark Thomas and Pete the Punk - it'll be well worth tuning in!
