Music Tutor Call Out
We’re looking for music tutors for our new Youth Music Initiative project ‘Amplify’.
Amplify is an inclusive music-making programme for young people aged 12-30 offering accessible activities such as beat-making, lyric writing, music making and voice.
The project will support young people facing barriers including poverty, trauma, neurodiversity, mental health challenges and care or justice experience.
Tutors should have knowledge and experience of music making, music technology and working with young people.
The project will include both group work and one-to-one sessions and takes place in Aberdeen from April 2026.
Availability to work evenings and weekends is essential.
Please email vacancies@shmu.org.uk detailing your experience and why you’re interested in the project (in no more than 300 words) before midnight on Sunday 1st March 2026.
Tutors will also be required to have or apply for membership of the Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme.
Amplify is part of The Scottish Government’s Youth Music Initiative (YMI) which is administered by Creative Scotland. The YMI creates access to high quality music making opportunities, enables young people to achieve their potential in or through music and supports the development of the sector for the benefit of young people.
