Children’s Rights and Wellbeing Impact Assessment (CRWIA)
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) policy is in the process of being enshrined in law. This has implications for all projects and work with young people up to an including 18-year-olds.
As an organisation we are committed to the principles set out in the UNCRC policy and have begun to undertake a full review of all the work our organisation undertakes with young people.
As a first step, and with support from CashBack for Communities we completed a Children's Rights and Wellbeing Impact Assessment (CRWIA), of our CashBack Phase 5 funded MoveForward programmes (Youth Media, Training Academy and MAP), to ensure this work does not breach the rights of children and as a safeguard, create a policy to reflect the need for a rights-driven approach to this work. In December 2023 we conducted a review of the CRWIA and made revisions to the assessment, which also reflects the work we are now delivering as part of Phase 6 of the CashBack for Communities funded programme, CashBack NorthEast.
The documents below include our Initial Screening, the full CRWIA Assessment and our CRWIA updated in December 2023.
