Love Where You Live and Community Champions campaigns

In order to brighten up the start of 2021 the shmuPRESS team have been working on some campaigns to include more community contributors in the production of the magazines. 

We asked local people to send in photos from their area to be used in the community magazines as part of Love Where You Live and we have loved seeing the pictures coming in from across the city. We've had some beautiful snowy photos as well as ones showing the first buds of spring.

The team have also been looking for nominations of community champions, people who have been doing something, small or large, that benefits the local community. We've had people tell us about their neighbours who put their bins out for them every week to community members who are helping elderly folk with their shopping and clearing paths when it snows. 

We have been including these photos and nominations in the Spring editions of the community magazines and the submissions have been really well received. 

Due to the success of these campaigns we are going to continue to run them throughout the year. If you would like to submit a photo Love Where You Live or nominate a Community Champion then we would love to hear from you. Just email your photos to Laura and to nominate someone you know as a champion email over a short paragraph explaining why the person is a champion and if you can, please include a photograph to go with it.
