Angela Joss 'Bee You' Memorial Award 2026

Nominations open now
We are delighted to open nominations for the 2026 Angela Joss ‘Bee You’ Memorial Award, created to honour the legacy of a remarkable woman whose kindness, resilience and unwavering commitment to community continues to inspire.

Presented annually by shmu, the award recognises individuals across Aberdeen who embody Angela’s values - bringing people together, championing others, overcoming challenges and spreading kindness.

At the heart of the award is a celebration of everyday community heroes whose quiet dedication makes a lasting difference. Nominations for the 2026 award are now open and will close on Sunday 29th March 2026, offering another opportunity to shine a light on those who go above and beyond for their communities.

Last year’s award was presented to Phionna McInnes in recognition of her outstanding contribution to families of children with additional support needs across Aberdeen. Speaking after receiving the honour, Phionna reflected on the importance of keeping Angela’s spirit alive: “Angela was such a force for good and such a force of connection, connecting people to make good stuff happen. I think it’s really important to have Angela’s legacy live on through this Award…what an absolute privilege to win this year’s award, thank you.”

Her words captured the essence of the ‘Bee You’ Award - celebrating those who not only make a difference, but inspire others to do the same.
