We are delighted to share shmu’s Annual Report for 2024/25 – a celebration of another remarkable year of connecting people, empowering communities, and creating real and lasting change across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire
This year’s report captures the scale and impact of our work, delivered in the face of continued financial pressures and growing demand. It showcases the energy and commitment of our staff, volunteers and participants, and their shared determination to build a stronger, fairer region through creativity, inclusion and opportunity.
From supporting 92 adults through trauma-informed services, to engaging more than 280 young people through creative media and skills programmes, we’ve continued to deliver high-impact, life-changing work rooted in place and powered by people.
Key Highlights of 2024/25 Include:
- 520 people took part in shmu programmes through volunteering, training or accredited learning
- Volunteers contributed over 30,000 hours to our radio, print, film and digital platforms
- 112 individuals received employability support with 79 people moving into a positive destination
- 192 pupils across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire were involved in our programmes in schools
- 92 adults were supported through our wellbeing activities
- Collaborated with over 200 partners
