Paving the Way to Woodside - September events

After the success of our very first fundraising event last month, we have arranged some more! Our Pub Quiz in the Lord Byron in Northfield raised over £500 for our Paving the Way to Woodside fundraising campaign, which is gearing up to raise the vital resources needed to fit out our studios, and to purchase new equipment, furniture and supplies for our volunteers and staff to use in the refurbished headquarters in Woodside.
Building upon the success of our first event, we have our Pub Quiz #2 lined up in Torry at The Golden Tee on Friday 7th September! Tickets are £4 each, with £1 raffles and another wooden spoon for the 'losers' decorated by the wonderful Juniper Press!
We also have an exciting night lined up at the Aberdeen Arts Centre on Tuesday 25th September, with our first Rock'n'Roll Bingo night! It's just like bingo, but with 15-20seconds of popular songs instead of numbers! Games are divided into decades with seventies, eighties, nineties and noughties rounds. There are cash prizes, music prizes and even some shmuFM guestspots for game winners! With lines or two lines, you get a song requests on Dave & Kenny's show! Tickets cost £10, which includes all games!
On Sunday 30th September we have something a little different lined up, with a sponsored 80's Workout at the Palm Court! Look out your best shell suit and spandex and prepare to laugh yourselves fit! We have a personal trainer secured for a non-stop 80's hour, and our very own Ultimate 80's DJ, Dave on the deck! Only £8 to take part, or get sponsored on our behalf!
If you want to come along to any of our events, head over to our Facebook events page, or get in touch with our Fundraising Officer, Frieda, at frieda.strachan@shmu.org.uk - if you have your own ideas for events or activites, we would love to hear from you and offer any assistance or support you might need!
All the funds raised from these events goes directly towards helping communities through our Paving the Way to Woodside campaign - we hope to see you all soon! #moretoshmu
