We are looking for two exceptional, innovative, community minded individuals to join our team!

Having recently completed a £1.5m transformation of the building’s HQ in Woodside, Aberdeen, creating a visionary creative media hub for the region, and having undergone a strategic and organisational review, we are looking for two exceptional, innovative, community minded individuals to join our team.  

Youth Services Manager

37 hours per week, £33,619 – £36,102 (permanent)

You will play a pivotal leadership role within the organisation, working alongside the Chief Executive to design, manage and coordinate the strategic and operational aspects of all youth services across the organisation.

You will be a passionate advocate for shmu’s youth services and support young people to maximise their potential. You will have managerial responsibility for the youth services staff team, ensuring that the organisation’s youth related services are designed, managed and delivered to the highest standards through robust quality assurance and performance management.

You will also contribute towards the financial sustainability of the strand, ensuring that their team deliver all funding, reporting and evaluation requirements. You will also oversee the development and implementation of recognised accreditation and youth related awards across the programmes.

Volunteer Coordinator

37 hours per week, £26,371 - £29,070 (funded for 3 years initially by the Robertson Trust and Fairer Aberdeen Fund)

You will promote positive relationships and partnerships, lead projects and initiatives, building a volunteering programme that brings genuine value to the organisation and an enhanced experience for our volunteers.

You will be an outstanding communicator, with great interpersonal skills who will be able to work cooperatively with a range of colleagues, while also being able to offer a proactive and self-motivated approach to volunteer support.

You will develop and implement a coordinated package of support for shmu volunteers, with a specific focus on supporting those with barriers to engagement in order for them to be able to actively participate across our programmes for adults.

You will lead on securing Investing in Volunteer status for the organisation and ensure that volunteers achievements are recognised and celebrated.
