shmuTRAIN's newest recruit

Due to the success of shmuTRAIN's work in schools around the city and our employability courses at Station House and TYP, we had to take on extra staff to take the pressure off our hardworking shmuTRAIN duo, Brian Webb and Michelle Trail. The bar was set very high to make the two into a trio, and we had some great applicants, but unfortunately, we were only allowed to pick one.
Here's a little bit of blurb from Kevin Warrander, our new youth support worker.
My name is Kevin Warrander, I am the new Shmu youth support worker, my role at Shmu is to support and motivate young people to engage with the SHMUtrain positive transitions & Early Interventions projects supporting them into employment or training, I also work alongside the SHMUfm staff team within the Youth Radio Project to support the young people to set themselves challenges and to complete their Youth Achievement Award. I started off volunteering in youth work in my home town Peterhead when I was a teenager, and got offered full time employment a few years later. I worked for Aberdeenshire council for 8 years, working in a range of community settings and gaining experience and knowledge.
We hope you will join us in welcoming Kevin to the team.

Positive Transitions
Are you 16-25? Not in education, employment or training? Why not sign up for a Positive Transitions course?
Early Interventions
The shmuTRAIN Positive Progressions programme targets and engages young people in the Senior Phase who have been identified as being unlikely to secure a positive destination when leaving school. The programme offers an academic year-long course, which combine skills development with employability support, supported by staff from shmu based within the school.
