Evening of World Dance & Music

On the 2nd August 2017, the Youth Media Team were given the opportunity to go along and see the Evening of World Dance & Music at the Tivoli theatre. They were treated to a variety of different acts from around the world. First off to start the show was the Nkrabea Dance Ensemble with their spectacular performance of Jerah. Then it was Red Phoenix Dance from Scotland with their performance of Fan Dance. The Aberdeen Academy of Dance came on next with their rendition of the High School Musical Medley. The Ruciteme Karyenda Culture De Buyenzi from Burundi did a performance called Umukenyuro, played using traditional drums. Up next was the Yangzhou Sunshine Youth Wushu Team from China with their beautiful performance of The Art of Grace. To finish off the first half of the show the Aberdeen Youth Brass Band who played recent hits Chandelier and Just Give me a Reason.

After the interval, we were treated to a magnificent performance from Dance Lab & Fusion from Italy, Russia, Israel, Greece & Scotland called Free connections. The Ruciteme Karyenda Culture De Buyenzi from Burundi made their second appearance of the night with their performance of Aho Hari Hambere. The Kalasangam Indian Dance School from Scotland came on next with a performance of Musical Harmony in the Universe. Nkrabea from Ghana came back on again very shortly with a performance of Otofo. The Aberdeen Academy of Dance did a very good performance of Slipping Through My Fingers. Dance Lab came back for a second round with their performance of Release. The Red Phoenix Dance also came back for a second round with their performance of Kongfu Dance. To finish off the show the Ruciteme Karyenda Culture De Buyenzi came back for a final performance of Urimwiza Burundi.
