Festival in the City

Aberdeen went full blast on Saturday the 25^th of July in the City Centre with many outdoor out-standing dancing, music and singing performances. The event was at the Aberdeen City Centre at 1pm-4pm and it was a free event. There were many performances from all around the world showing there different cultures.

Canadian performers were playing marimbas creating songs like Viva Lavida by Coldplay and Radioactive by Imagine Dragons.  Edge ‘n’ Pointe from Hong Kong came to do some amazing contemporary ballet and they have never done a performance out of Asia. Kresala Dantza Taldea Kresala from Basque Country were dancing there national dance, which involved them dancing with a partner while clicking their fingers which is quite interesting. Toronto All Stars are playing music on traditional steel drums which gave a dancing mood to the audience.

 This event gave a taste of what is to come in the rest of AIYF and show cultures and styles from people all around the world.
