Tilly Gala 2014

Our staff members and Youth Media Team (YMT) members went to the Tillydrone Gala on the 16th of August 2014. Everyone had great time there were different stalls that sold fruit, cakes, ice-cream, jewellery etc.
There was a spectacular performance by Guarana that everyone enjoyed and we were happy to see that our community comes together to create such great festival. There were bouncy castle for the kids and free ice-cream for kids.
The event kicked off with an opening speech from Lewis Macdonald MSP. The Torry Turtle came in and joined us and made it more fun for us all. The police was showing kids of what it is like to be a police officer. The kids had fun and so did everyone else.
The groups included: Lads club, shmu, Aberdeen City Youth Council, St Machar City Church, the Police, City Wardens and Satrosphere. Special thanks to DJ Dmix for providing the super music - you can tune in to his music in shmuFM 99.8 at 12:00pm till 2:00am on a Tuesday.
You can hear an interview with Lewis Macdonald MSP, various others regarding the closure of the Tilly Youth Project, and a performance from the Guarana Street Drummers right here:
