Challenge Poverty Week

ShmuFM have been working with organisations, both local and nationally, as part of Challenge Poverty Week, to highlight the many issues around poverty.
Volunteers from shmuFM have produced a number of shows which will be broadcast throughout the week, focusing on local charities, lived experience of poverty and the effects of economic inequality.
Challenge Poverty Week is a national campaign which is a chance to highlight the injustice of poverty in Scotland and to celebrate the people and projects who are standing against it together.
Although Scotland is a nation of people who believe in justice and compassion, poverty exists here and it must be addressed as it restricts people’s lives.
The Poverty Alliance is asking us to turn compassion into action and put this situation right so that everyone has a decent standard of living that allows them to grow and progress in their lives.
These shows will be broadcast throughout the week at 11am on shmu 99.8FM and online except Friday where the Challenge Poverty Week show will be broadcast at 9am.
