Free youth radio workshops this summer

shmuFM's Youth Radio Summer School returns in July

We're running our highly successful Youth Radio Summer School during the holidays again this year, which offers free radio training for young people who live or attend school in the regeneration areas of the city.

The Summer School programme is designed for P7 pupils moving on to St. Machar, Northfield or Torry Academy after the summer holidays AND/OR living in Cummings Park, Middlefield, Northfield, Seaton, Tillydrone, Torry or Woodside.

The radio training sessions are free, fun and informal, and we run one or two sessions (depending on demand) during each week of the school holidays, when young people can learn to use our professional radio studios and present their own shows on shmuFM.

The first taster session is here at Station House Media Unit (on Station Road in Woodside) on Saturday 5th July, from 1.30pm to 3.00pm, which will provide young people with the opportunity to visit the radio studios, meet staff and find out more before signing up for the Summer School programme.

To book a place at the taster session, parents or carers can call Lesley or Adele at shmu on 01224 515013.
