shmu presenter in Queen’s Baton honour

Proud moment for Jacqui and grandson

The Queen’s Baton arrived in Aberdeen on Monday and was toured around various locations in the city, with specially selected individuals who were allowed to carry the baton on each leg of its journey.  Our volunteer news team at shmu headed up to Northfield to catch one of our very own shmuFM presenters, Jacqui Innes proudly take up the baton.

Jacqui is presents and works on the community magazine show Cumming North, which airs on shmuFM on Mondays between 10am and 11am.  Jacqui also had an emotional moment, when she received a surprise visit from her grandson, who came to see her moment of fame.

The shmu team had a number of exclusive interviews with baton carriers, the Lord Provost and spectators who had gathered in the streets and at Northfield Academy to celebrate the baton’s arrival.
