YRP trainees go live on shmuFM

The shmu Youth Radio Project (YRP) has enjoyed yet another successful summer of training. The YRP team worked with 13 young people over the course of the summer holidays with a variety of digital media and mini projects to keep them entertained whilst learning about how to conduct interviews, research content for shows and many other aspects of radio and video production.
The young people. mostly hailing from across the seven regeneration areas of Aberdeen agreed to ditch their summer holidays in favour of gaining up for 6 weeks of radio training. 10 out of the 13 completed the whole course of the training and are now ready to broadcast live on air! Each trainee receives the support and training they need to feel confident enough to run with a live broadcast.
Our fantastic YRP group keeps growing and we now have over 25 young people actively engaging with us and participating weekly on shmuFM. Watch this space as more news emerges as we follow in the footsteps of our young people and move them into the spotlight of presenting live on shmuFM.
YRP broadcast on shmuFM on Monday to Friday between 4 and 5pm. Don't worry if you miss any shows, you can use our listen again service available on our FM pages!
