57 North Presents: Audiokicks

Aberdeenshire indie-rockers Audiokicks released their latest album ‘Lost To This World’ in February this year.

After 13 years behind the kit, drummer Ian Brown played his last show with the band in March and a new chapter for Audiokicks awaits.

Our new house is almost complete!

ShmuDESIGN Development Worker, Laura Bremner has been working hard on designs to make our new building, feel like home!

Our team here at shmu have been working together as part of a team to finish off the final touches. We can’t wait to get settled in at our new pad and get to work on the new exciting things we have in store for you.

shmu Marathon Fundraiser

Our Employability Manager Michelle here at shmu and her brother Steve are running his first ever marathon on the 28^th of April. The two are running the Stirling marathon (26 miles!) in order to fundraise money for shmu.

Michael Moloney runs independent record (and design) shop Chameleon on Aberdeen’s Union Grove.

It’s a busy time for Chameleon as they gear up for Record Store Day on Saturday 13th April.

David Angus is an Aberdeen-based singer-songwriter who has appeared on shmuFM several times in the past.

He’s gearing up for the release of his new album and plays EXOFST in Aberdeen later this month.

David will be playing live in the studio on Monday the 1st of April from 8–10pm.

57 North Presents: Owen Gibson

Owen Gibson is a 20 year-old singer-songwriter based in Aberdeen.

Owen released his debut EP 'From Me, to You’ in 2018, and plays regular gigs and acoustic nights in Aberdeen & the North East.

He’ll be playing live in the studio on Monday the 25th of March from 8–10pm.

57 North Presents: EXOFST

EXOFST is a one-night mini festival organised by students from RGU as part of Aberdeen Student Festival.

It takes place at Aberdeen’s Exodus on Friday 19th April and features a host of local bands & musicians including Glass Monkey, Dave Angus, Offline, Emily Watt, Ramona, Shannon F & Purgatory.
