57 North Presents: Dirty Rookers

Alt pop trio feature on shmuFM

This week on shmuFM, we're delighted to feature local alt pop band Dirty Rookers! You can hear him live on 57° North Presents on Monday the 3rd of November from 8-10pm. You'll hear their latest tracks, influences, live tracks and more.

Dirty Rookers is an alt pop band made up of Andrew Hyman, Sean Buchan and Paul Allan. Meeting all the way back in primary school, they each had several different musical projects - none of which ever left a practice room - until they started talking again after meeting at college.

After writing a few songs together, and searching long and hard for a drummer, they formed Dirty Rookers and have since released two double A sides, with plans to release their new single "Goodbye, Good Luck" in the coming months, followed by an EP which is also currently in the works.

Simply put, Dirty Rookers is hard hitting drums, catchy lead parts, and lyrics both optimistic and morbid.

With influences from Bob Dylan and Conor Oberst to Weezer and The Cure, Dirty Rookers enjoy an eclectic collection of music – which you can hear, right here, on shmuFM.

If you like what you hear, you can request any of Dirty Rooker's tracks on any of our live shows by getting in contact with the studio on 01224 483413, by texting 60300 (type SHMU, leave a space and then your message) or by emailing studio@shmu.org.uk.

57° North Presents is repeated every Friday at midnight until 2am on 99.8FM, and you can listen to the show here on our website using the live stream or Listen Again feature.
