57 North Presents: Dumbhouse

Local singer-songwriter Dumbhouse features on shmuFM

This week on 57° North Presents, we're excited to feature local singer-songwriter Dumbhouse! Tune in to the show on shmuFM from 8-10pm to hear new Dumbhouse tracks, an interview with Craig himself, local music news, gigs and releases - and probably a couple old Ashley Park gems while we're at it!

Dumbhouse is the new project by emo/folk singer-songwriter Craig Henderson. Craig previously found success with his project, Ashley Park - this saw him touring extensively in support of such headliners such as Jonah Matranga and Texas is the Reason on dates throughout Europe.

Since officially bringing Ashley Park to an end in January 2016, Craig has since been behind the scenes in a producer and sound engineer role for other acts in the Scottish music scene. Craig has been the producer behind releases by bands such as Bird Law, Boak, and Dirty Trick as well as being the host of podcast, CHAPcast, that celebrates and showcases up and coming acts in Scotland.

Craig has now returned to the stage in 2017 with new material and a new sound that he describes as, “…more traditional in its approach. Dumbhouse is certainly more mature than what I’ve done in the past but you can still hear Ashley Park in there”. Craig has already managed to book Dumbhouse shows supporting Glasgow noise songwriter, Kapil Seshasayee and folk legend, Alan Davidson later this year.

So if you'd like to hear more Dumbhouse on shmuFM, remember that you can request tracks on any live show by getting in touch with the studio!

Also, don't worry if you miss the show - you can listen again until the 24th of July, or tune in the old-fashioned way from midnight to 2am on Friday night for the repeat.
