57 North Presents: Stasis
This week, our featured artist is Stasis! You can hear them live on 57° North Presents on Monday the 5th of December from 8-10pm. You'll hear tracks from their new EP, a live session and plenty more, only on shmuFM.
Stasis is a two-piece band made up of guitarist and singer songwriter Nicky Elphinstone and drummer Connor Logue. The band was formed in October 2015 and has continued to stay under the radar perfecting their sound.
Both members came from a different musical background. Connor found his muse in hard hitting metal rhythms, which flowed perfectly with the blues/garage rock background that Nicky brought to the table. The result is a very original and intense sound. As the band have taken to saying: "there's something so metal about garage rock". They credit a wide range of influences and inspirations such as Jimi Hendrix, Slipknot, Jack White and Motorhead etc.
They plan to have an EP out later this year titled "I Fell From Space", and their main aim is to have regular gigs in different locations.
