Band of the Week is back!

The Band of the Week Show returns after a short break

We're delighted to announce that the Band of the Week Show is back!

Despite Jaimi's near three-year run without a single repeat, the chain was broken, and the combo was lost. Fret not however, as the show is returning and is set to be bigger and better than ever.

We like to think we have something for everyone, and each week has a different flavour altogether. Last year we featured singer-songwriters, pop-punk, folk, electronic, indie, alternative, pop, rock, metal, world and rap musicians, as well as venues and labels. This year, we'd like to expand on this and venture ever deeper into the murky waters of blurred genres: whether you're a jazz/funk band, an EDM producer, an experimental solo artist, a progressive tech metal sextet, or anything else not unfathomable, we want to play it.

The details remain unchanged - the show broadcasts from 8-10pm every Monday night on 99.8fm in and around Aberdeen (and of course, right here on shmu.org.uk), is repeated every Friday at midnight until 2am, and is presented by the one and only Jaimi Ray. If you have a request for the show - or would just like to get involved/give some feedback - you can get in touch via botw@shmu.org.uk, you can phone in on 01224 483413, or you can text 60300 (start your text with SHMU and a space). You can also check us out on Facebook - a cheeky like wouldn't go amiss either.

If you'd like to be featured on the show, get in touch with Shawn Balfour on shawn@shmu.org.uk. We need a handful of tracks and a short 2-3 paragraph bio for our presenters to read out, and in return you get exposure on our airwaves, not only on the BotW Show but also on each and every one of our primetime shows - the wonderful Breakfast, Packed Lunch and Cruise Control shows. If this appeals then please don't hesitate to get in touch.

We hope you tune in to the relaunch of the show to celebrate three years of local music coverage. Remember, if you miss the show, it'll be available for a week to stream right here.
