Band of the Week: Cold California
Local alt rockers Cold California are featured this week on shmuFM as our Band of the Week - you can hear them live on the Band Of The Week Show on Monday the 15th of September from 8-10pm, where you'll hear some of their studio tracks - and some acoustic versions of their songs live - as well as getting to know the band and what they're up to.
Cold California is a four-piece alternative rock band from Aberdeen. Formed in late 2013 by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Chris Burke, drummer Peter Barron, and bassist/keyboardist David Chappell, the lineup was completed with the arrival of lead guitarist Jack Ledingham in mid-2014.
The band's energetic style of alternative rock fuses heavy riffs, shout-along choruses, and cinematic intensity. Influences range from such diverse acts as Thirty Seconds to Mars, Nightwish, and Two Steps from Hell.
Future plans for the band are to perform as many shows as they can in Aberdeen and beyond, with hopes of recording their debut album "Every Dream; Every Nightmare".
