Band of the Week: Double D

This week on shmuFM, we're delighted to feature local country rock duo Double D. You can hear them live on the 57° North Band of the Week Show on Monday the 22nd August from 8-10pm. You'll hear his latest tracks, influences, how he goes about producing his songs and much more.

Double D is an acoustic duo from Aberdeen, singing and playing original songs as well as a handful of well-known, sing along country and rock songs.

Double D get their name from their members, Dave Bremner and Dave Plenderleith. Dave Bremner may be familiar to regular shmuFM listeners as he’s appeared on the Band of the Week Show has himself, and with rock band Luna Reklipse. Dave Plenderleith, one of the two Ds, also plays in country rock band Palomino.

This is where they get their sound from – one Dave brings more country and one brings more rock, hence “a little bit of country, a little bit of rock”. You can hear their tracks, as well as songs that influence Double D’s sound, and a few gems from their respective careers.
