Band of the Week: Jack'ill
Our featured artist this week on shmuFM is Jack'ill - you can hear him live on the Band of the Week Show on Monday the 30th of March from 8-10pm. You'll hear his debut EP first, you'll get to know him, where his influences come from, and you may just hear an exclusive live freestyle set too!
Jack’ill, aka Jack Hughes, is a hip hop MC from Aberdeen. With a preference for Golden Era, Boombap-style instrumentals and intricate lyricism, he aims to bring a fresh taste to an old school sound. He aims to show respect to the pioneers in his music but also spark the minds of the younger generation.
Overall his message is to highlight issues in the thinking of today’s society and ultimately spread a positive message. Jack’ill is on our shmu Rap Music Project, which is split into Lyricism, Beat-making and Gigs & Promotion workshops. Through this he recorded a couple of tracks which you can hear on shmuFM.
