Band of the Week: Leanne Smith
Our featured artist this week on shmuFM is Leanne Smith - you can hear her live on the Band of the Week Show on Monday the 13th of July from 8-10pm. You'll hear her new EP, a live set, you'll get to know her and what she's up to, where she's been, and what's on the horizon for Leanne.
Leanne Smith is a local singer-songwriter, hailing from Macduff. She released her debut album "Clockwise" in 2013 and has supported various artists during her time studying music in Aberdeen, including Lucy Rose, Fossil Collective and Sandi Thom.
Her music draws influence from a variety of different genres including pop, rock and folk. She began by playing guitar influenced by rock, blues and metal bands, and you can still hear this in her beautifully delicate, intricate guitar parts, giving her music an interesting, unique sound.
