Band of the Week: Margaret Finlayson
Our featured artist this week on shmuFM is Margaret Finlayson! She'll appear and perform live on the Band Of The Week Show on Monday the 9th of June from 8-10pm.
Margaret Finlayson is a 20 year old singer-songwriter based right here in Aberdeen. Armed only with her acoustic guitar, she writes pop songs that aim to portray every kind of emotion through catchy, soaring melodies.
Having started playing her own songs live in late 2011, Finlayson has built herself a solid reputation as an attention-grabbing live performer. To celebrate the release of her debut EP, she played her first headline show to a large crowd that already knew the words to every song.
Finlayson is focused on expanding her fan base nationally, as well as being part of Aberdeen’s burgeoning local scene. Emotional without being sentimental, catchy without being repetitive, her song-writing is well-crafted and uplifting, but versatile in tone.
