Band of the Week: The Ruptured Ducklings

Punk rockers feature as shmu's Band of the Week

Local punk rockers The Ruptured Ducklings are featured this week on shmuFM as our Band of the Week - you can hear them live on the Band Of The Week Show on Monday the 21st of July from 8-10pm, where you'll hear some of their studio tracks - as well as playing some acoustic versions of our songs live - as well as getting to know the band and what they're up to.

The Ruptured Ducklings is a four-piece band from Aberdeen whose music can be described as "an audio explosion of punk and rock, which occasionally delves into the smoother world of ballads and funk - infectious, passionate and loud." They are fairly recently established, and have been gigging frequently around Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

They consider their main influences to be Green Day, Guns ā€˜n’ Roses, Blink 182 and Chris Cornell. They're currently working on their debut EP – you can hear a few of these upcoming tracks right here on shmuFM.

As well as the Band of the Week Show, you can hear The Ruptured Ducklings' tracks on any of our live shows by getting in contact with the studio on 01224 483413, by texting 60300 (type SHMU, leave a space and then your message) or by emailing studio@shmu.org.uk.

The Band Of The Week Show is repeated every Friday at midnight until 2am on 99.8FM, and you can listen to the show here on our website using the live stream or Listen Again feature.

EDIT: You can now listen to two of The Ruptured Ducklings' live tracks right here:
