Band of the Week: Semperfi
This week on shmuFM, our Band of the Week is local modern metal group Semperfi! You can hear the guys live on the Band Of The Week Show on Monday the 19th of May from 8-10pm.
Formed in late 2008, right here in Aberdeen, Semperfi have effectively created the foundations of a strong, solid modern metal band. Since their early beginnings, Semperfi have fashioned their own unique metal sound by blending together many musical influences – and not just from the metal genre. Each members' musical tastes are as wide and varied as the next, which adds depth, diversity and a wide spectrum of colours to Semperfi’s songwriting and creative flair.
Over the past year, Semperfi have proven their worth as a professional metal act. Finishing 1st place out of 700+ unsigned bands in a UK-wide competition saw them secure a slot at the prestigious Download Festival – an opportunity to showcase their talents, which they grasped firmly with both hands. They’re set to release their new EP Polaris on Saturday – but you can hear it before its release, right here on shmuFM.
