Band of the Week: tom

This week, our featured artist on the Band of the Week Show is electro-acoustic solo musician tom. His sound oscillates between Chvrches-esque electro-danceability, the shimmering falsetto of Jeff Buckley, and somewhat poppier moments.

 

Despite a relatively small gigging history, he has managed to support Chemikal Underground artist Miaoux Miaoux in Edinburgh, as well as playing to sold-out shows for Aberdeen Student Radio - including the biggest gig in Cellar 35's history earlier this year.

 

There’s an innocence and fragility to the works Gilbert has put online, and he writes music “about things I like but generally things that I hate.”
