Eddie Mac is latest shmuSOUND success

Local pop singer starts on the path to success

Look out for the name Eddie Mac in the future, as shmuSOUND's latest graduate is aiming for pop success with his first two tracks.

Recorded at our studio in Tillydrone, the tracks were written by Eddie Mac - known to his mother as Edward Mcnelis - and produced by our sound engineer Iain, with the help of our music tutors Simon and Shawn.

Edward (19, from Mastrick) completed 6 workshops as part of the project, going through the songwriting process and vocal coaching. He then moved on to record his songs in the studio and finished with a workshop on hosting his music online and promoting himself.

Here's his first track, entitled 'Get Over It' - a song about relationships gone wrong and moving on.

His second track is called 'When the Weekend Comes' and is a fun song about partying during the summer.

So what next for Eddie Mac then? Well, he's hosting an open mic night at Prohibition bar every Sunday and is hoping to meet other musicians to try out some new tracks, before booking some gigs and heading along the road to success.

Listen out for his tracks on the radio and if you like them, make sure you email the studio (studio@shmu.org.uk) or text (60300 followed by a space then SHMU) to request his tunes - especially if the sun's out!

We wish him all the best.
