SHMU launches Band of the Week Gigs

As part of our mission to promote the music scene in Aberdeen, we're launching a new project to put on live gigs in and around the city.

'shmuFM Band of the Week Live' starts on Saturday August 31st with a FREE launch gig at Cellar 35, the line-up is yet to be confirmed, so if any solo acts or bands out there would like to be considered for any of our gigs, then just pop an email to sound@shmu.org.uk and we'll be in touch.

The aim of the gigs is to give even more support to local musicians, many of whom are already showcased through the Band of the Week Show, which goes out every Monday night between 8pm and 10pm on 99.8 shmuFM.

We'll be highlighting the diversity of music in and around Aberdeen, with each night set to be a mix of styles. We aim to make the gigs free of charge in order to get as many people involved as possible and the night will be hosted by shmuFM Band of the Week presenters Jaimi Ray and Mark E.

We'll also be recording the gigs and can then broadcast them on shmuFM!

So mark Saturday 31st August in your diary and come along for a night featuring 4 local acts in a celebration of music in Aberdeen.
