shmuFM Band of the Week: Second Star
This week's Band of the Week on shmuFM is Second Star! Second Star appeared, and performed live, on the Band Of The Week Show on Monday the 23rd of June from 8-10pm.

Second Star is a synth-pop four-piece from Aberdeen, who only formed at the beginning of 2014 but have squeezed in a lot this year so far. Since their inception only months ago, Second Star have: played their debut gig to a packed out Lemon Tree in January, released 3 singles on iTunes to a great response, received radio play and backing from ‘The Voice of New Music’ in Scotland, and have received promotional backing from STV during their latest song release ‘Kill This Love’ which was released on iTunes on 5th June.
The name ‘Second Star’ comes from the band’s shared love of a movie from their childhood called ‘Hook’. They originally wanted to call themselves ‘Second Star To The Right’, but everyone told them it was far too long, so they became Second Star! Second Star have lots of new music, gigging and big things planned for 2014 - watch this space!
