shmuFM Band of the Week: Tonik
Our second shmuFM Band of the Week in 2014 is Tonik. You can hear them live on the show on the 13th of January.
Tonik is an acoustic duo comprised of Katie O’Hara and previous featured artist Dan Leckie. The two formed Tonik around a year ago, and they’ve been performing in and around Aberdeen and the rest of Scotland since then. They are each working on their own projects – Dan’s been on the circuit for nearly a decade, and Katie’s currently working on her own album.
As Tonik, the duo has quite a dark, sincere and heartfelt sound, with Katie’s powerful vocals and Dan’s arrangements marrying up to create genuine, meaningful music. You can request Tonik's music on any of our live shows by emailing us on studio@shmu.org.uk, or by calling 01224 483 413.
