On Saturday the 30th of July shmu's Youth Media Team headed into Aberdeen City Centre for Festival City which was one of the first events of Aberdeen International Youth Festival (AIYF) 2016.
Shmu’s Youth Media Team were at Aberdeen Jazz Festival’s Jazz on the Green event on Sunday 20 March, where they interviewed members of Edinburgh Latin/Afrobeat group Pocion de Fe
March sees the return of Science Week, which takes place this year between 11 - 20 March. This national event attempts to engage and involve people in STEM fields – that is Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
St George's Church in Tillydrone invited shmu's Youth Media Team to have a chat with them about their latest venture in Uganda - Toilet Twining!
The church works hand in hand with local charity, Tillydrone Vision, and after recently upgrading the existing toilet facilities in the building the team had a discussion about what they could do to help.
For the past while, SHMU’s journalism group have been working on their new youth magazine ‘Journalogical’ and for the first time, it’s out there on shelves and in libraries near you! This brand new magazine gives you a glimpse into what has currently been going down at SHMU.
Saturday 12th of December saw the youth media team do their second last Saturday broadcast of the year at Station House.
With the end of the year looming, it was the perfect opportunity to invite parents and guardians in to SHMU to celebrate the achievements of the youth media team from the whole of 2015.
It has been a very long time since I myself had been to a panto. When I heard Peter Pan would be in theatres I was excited when the opportunity raised to see it. At first the idea of audience participation and sitting in a theatre filled with screaming children waving multi-coloured flashing swords was a bit unnerving.
