Are you going to Donside Fair?

Our shmu team will be hoping for some of the beautiful weather we have had recently to continue over this weekend, as they will be attending the Donside Fair.  The event, taking place for the first time within the affordable regenerated Donside Community promises to be an entertaining afternoon suitable for all ages and families and is to be held on Sunday the 3rd of August.

ADJUST celebrates milestone

We have our first participant who has not been returned to custody for two years and we have ten who have been out for a year or more – the vast majority of whom state that this would have been very unlikely without the input of ADJUST.

AIYF International Parade and Party

On the 26th of July 2014 our Youth Media Team took part in the AIYF International Parade and Party, which included all of the amazing acts of this year’s Aberdeen International Youth Festival. The Parade started off in Aberdeen’s Art Centre and made its way down Bridge Street, ending its exciting march on George Street.

AIYF Welcome Ceremony

On the 27th of July, a couple of members from Youth Media went along to the Music Hall for the welcome ceremony. The welcome ceremony is a huge occasion where all the participants come together to mark the start of AIYF.

Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Song Studio

Our wonderful Youth Media Team went to see the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Opera Song Studio on Monday 28th July 2014. The performance was breathtaking and it was lovely to hear how beautiful and talented the performers were. We were glad to hear outstanding pianists that helped our stars shine even brighter.

Young opera artists impress Youth Media Team

On 26th July 2014 our Youth Media Team (YMT) went to have a look at Oxford Lieder Young Artists by Kangmin Justin Kim and Sachika Taniyama. Their performance was unique as Kangmin sang German opera with very high pitched voice which made everyone very impressed by his talent. Young and talented Sachika had a great performance with Kangmin as pianist and both of them deserve a big applause.

International Concert at Inchgarth Community Centre

On Friday the 25th of July, our Youth Media Team went to a cultural performance at Garthdee in Aberdeen for the International Concert. The performances included countries that came from different continents and corners of the world.

Daniel Mutch on the YRP Show

shmuFM's Youth Radio Project interviewed brilliant local musician Daniel Mutch on Monday the 28th's YRP show, following Daniel's performance at the Lemon Tree's Freshly Squeezed event as part of the Aberdeen International Youth Festival.

Whilst on the show, Daniel debuted one of his new, original tracks, entitled Cullen Sands.
