Fresh face on shmuFM

Natalie Scott joined the shmuFM team this week as part of her school work experience.

During the week she has been helping with our community news desk as well as joining in on many of our day time shows, helping presenters with research or any preparation work before they go live on air.

Choices Aberdeen on shmuFM

shmuTRAIN have teamed up with Choices Aberdeen with Andrew and Bethany being interviewed as part of the weekly shmuTRAIN takeover.

The group were discussing sexual exploitation and how to form healthy and positive relationships.

Culture Club - Carbuncle Award debate

Aberdeen was awarded the “most dismal town” in Scotland 2015 last year through the Carbuncle award.

shmuFM’s Culture Club hosted a debate between the Lord Provost of Aberdeen City Council, George Adam and John Glenday of Urban Realm magazine.

Urban Realm awards a different location in Scotland the “plook of the plinth” every year.

A new face at shmuFM

shmuFM welcomed a new face this week - Bobbi Thomson.

Bobbi is on placement with us for the next 6 weeks and will be working with various strands during her time here.

She is a 3rd year journalism student at RGU and will be splitting her days between shmu and RGU:Media.

Hanger 18 Exclusive

Listen out for a UK exclusive track on Saturday the 7th of February on shmuFM's very own Hanger 18.

The Qemists are playing in Glasgow in March this year, supporting KoRn in their world tour.

To promote the tour and their new album they have released their brand new track "Warrior Sound" to 3 DJs in the world.

Hanger 18's Brian Webb was one of these lucky few.

A welcome voice returns

If you’ve been tuning in to Tilly Talks recently you may have noticed a new voice has been added to the line-up. We’d like to wish a warm welcome to Andrew Gibbons who has taken up the hot seat, alongside our longstanding presenter, Elsie Rennie. We’re delighted to have Elsie back on air after a short break during the winter months.

A sad farewell

Wednesday the 14th of January is a sad day for shmuFM as we wave goodbye to one of our longstanding presenters, Neil Gibbons. 

Neil has been helping the people of Aberdeen wake up and get going by presenting the Breakfast Show on a Tuesday and a Wednesday morning between 7 and 9am for the last 3 years.
