Cumming North's new look

The shmu community magazines have been treated to a makeover this year and have some lovely new front covers.

First in the schedule is Cumming North which was picked up by our hard-working delivery team this week and should be making its way round the doors in Cummings Park and Northfield very soon.

Youth media investigate and experiment for British Science Week

March sees the return of Science Week, which takes place this year between 11 - 20 March. This national event attempts to engage and involve people in STEM fields – that is Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

FIND Scotland

FIND Scotland is a partnership between SHMU, Screen Education Edinburgh and GMAC Film in Glasgow and is designed to support 12 exceptional candidates, aged 16-24, from a broad range of diverse backgrounds with ambition and passion to work within the film or television industries.

NESCOL raise money for SHMU

The Learning Opportunities Department at North East of Scotland College (NESCOL) are raising money for Station House Media Unit (shmu) this week.

They are hosting the George Street charity shop until Friday the 26th of February.

Toilet twins

St George's Church in Tillydrone invited shmu's Youth Media Team to have a chat with them about their latest venture in Uganda - Toilet Twining!

The church works hand in hand with local charity, Tillydrone Vision, and after recently upgrading the existing toilet facilities in the building the team had a discussion about what they could do to help.

Around the World in Sixty Minutes

This week saw the first live broadcast from Mimi, who is a new volunteer at shmuFM. Mimi was introduced to shmuFM and the world of radio through Mike Melvin as she has appeared as a guest on “So Why Don’t You?” previously.
