Youth Media Taster Sessions

Simon from the Current Affairs show headed down to Offshore Europe this week and managed to grab an interview with Professor Brian Cox. 

Offshore Europe visits Aberdeen every two years and invites people and companies in the oil and gas industry all over the world to come to Aberdeen.

Youth Media 16 Plus group

The 16+ Group is a new Youth Media show that is broadcast on Saturday from 1-2pm.  We are involved with the Youth Radio Project, and meet up every Tuesday and discuss on what topic to tackle.

The point of this is that it is still Youth Media but the topics are aimed more for the older group and listeners, as well as the topics being more relevant and relatable for the age group.

Tommy Sheridan Interview

shmuFM's Current Affairs team carried out an interview with Tommy Sheridan which was aired on Friday the 4th of September.

The socialist compaigner and cofounder of the Solidarity group was visiting the Granite City last week as part of a tour of several Scottish cities.

Youth Media Team goes to the Fringe

In collaboration with Media Education Edinburgh The Youth Radio Project teamed up with Media Educations young people to cover The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. 

Festival radio is a partnership project, run by Media Education Charity. It allows young people to work together to cover the Edinburgh and Lothian festivals.

Aberdeen City Youth Council partner up with the Youth Media Team

The Youth media team at SHMU FM are partnering up with the Aberdeen City Youth Council to produce a show every month based on the thoughts and opinions of young people from within Aberdeen.
